On Sept. 17, 2011 there was a group of PGR (Patriot Guard Riders) and friends that rode out to a baseball field in Rancho Cucamonga. They were there to help the young brother of a Hero the PGR escorted back to his family about a year prior.
The young man is the little brother of SPC Ronnie j. Pallares. His name is John and he is 10 years old. Ronnie Pallares was killed in action on October 23, 2010 in Andar district, Ghazni, Afghanistan. He was only 19 years old.
When we got word that his young brothers bike had been stolen, from his backyard, we couldn’t help but feel heart broken. A small collection was taken, and the balance of a new Haro 200 Series BMX Bike was paid by Vision2Victory.
It was a big surprise to John, and all his friends on the ball field, when about 25 load Harley Davidson riders, and several cars of people rolled into the parking lot. When everyone parked, they formed a line that lead to the field. John was called out, and when he was by the end of the line, his new bike was rolled over to him. He gave it a quick test ride and did a round of hugs to all the people that made it happen. He then went back down to the field and continued with the team practice. You could tell he wanted to stay on the bike, but his team was waiting.
